This is a guest post from Quida Davis at Simple Savings for ATL Moms which offers tips on shopping, saving and couponing. Check back for more of her tips.

Children look up to their parents and need to have great ways to save as they get older. Why not teach them to use coupons and show them how they can save money by doing so?

Below are two great ways that you can help your children start learning how to save by using coupons:

Clip their Favorite Coupons

If there is a certain product that my teenagers want and there is a coupon available for them to use, I hand them the insert and allow them to clip out the coupons and pair them up with a sale. There are many items that my children like and this is one excellent way to help them understand they can save on their favorite products.

Spending the Savings

Did you know that children will put more thought into spending their own money as compared to when they spend yours? Try allowing them to spend their own savings from their couponing. You can also show them how to save for a bigger price item instead of spending their savings right away. You might be surprised what they will choose when they do get the chance to spend their own money.

Quida can find a coupon for almost anything and she often surprises cashiers when she checks out. For more tips on saving and couponing, visit Quida at  Simple Savings for ATL Moms. Connect and interact with her on Twitter Facebook, and Instagram.
