Everyone is excited to use coupons, but before you get started on your couponing adventure, you may want to think about a few things first. Here are three things to consider before you start couponing:
Have you made a list?
It is very easy to just walk into the store and not have a list of the items you may need to purchase. This can hurt you at the register especially in your pockets. Take some time to look in the sales flyer first and then create your list of items that are on sale. Look for coupons on my coupon database, coupons.com, smartsource.com or redplum.com if you do not have coupon inserts. See how many items you can match up with coupons and how you can save on them.
Don’t shop hungry!
Always eat a great meal or have a nice healthy snack before you go to the store to shop. This will help you cut down on placing unnecessary items in your cart that you don’t have a coupon for and/or stopping to get food on the way.
Don’t be in a hurry!
Take some time to plan what day of the week you are going to shop. Try to stick to this schedule. You never want to go shopping in the store and be in a hurry because you may pick up the wrong items and/or even misread your coupons and get frustrated at checkout.
