Today is Presidents’ Day which brings a range of sales in different categories. The sales started as early as Feb. 5 and some will extend through Feb. 22. Here are some of the best things to shop for during these sales:

Mattresses: Find discounts of 50-80 percent off during clearance sales this weekend. You can save more with box spring bundle deals and financing specials such as interest-free options, say the deal experts at Offers.com. Of course, be sure this makes sense for your financial situation, and know that you have another chance at mattress sales around Labor Day.

Winter Apparel: Discounts on clothing will hit 80 percent off on items such as coats, sweaters and winter accessories, according to Offers.com. Look at retailers like 6 p.m. and Nordstrom for big deals, say experts at Ben’s Bargains.

Large Appliances: Check big-box stores for sales on refrigerators, washers, dryers and more priced 30-40 percent off retail. Sears is always a good destination for these types of deals. See an overview of the deals at Sears here.

Furniture: Offers.com experts say furniture will be discounted 50-70 percent off in various departments. New shipments of furniture will be coming in, so retailers are looking to get last year’s pieces out of the store. The experts at Ben’s Bargains suggest heading to stores like IKEA, Wayfair and Kmart for items up to 80 percent off.

Best sidewide sales: Amazon, Best Buy and Newegg will have some of the best sales across the board, say experts at Ben’s Bargains. Also look for stores such as Office Depot, Staples and Dell to hold big sales such as $50 off a minimum purchase amount or low prices on laptops.

Outlet sales: North Georgia Premium Outlet’s Presidents’ Day sale offers a range of specials and deals at retailers including Calvin Klein, Cole Haan, Elizabeth Arden, Kenneth Cole, Loft Outlet, North Face, Restoration Hardware, Ugg Australia and more. See here for more details.
