Georgia State Parks: Kick 2015 off with a healthy start with the  “First Day Hike” special. Georgia State Parks has put together special hikes across the state focusing on topics such as history or geology. Find a full list at gastateparks.org (call ahead to be sure certain hikes are suitable for young children). Parking is $5; note some hikes require a small fee. One nearby hike is at Panola Mountain State Park in Stockbridge (ages 6 and older,  noon-2 p.m. today).
