Black Friday 2014: Thanksgiving Day store hours

Holiday shopping season, as defined by retailers, has arrived. For several years, stores have opened their doors on Thanksgiving Day rather than wait until Black Friday. This year, many retailers are opening earlier than ever. Most major retailers will be open by 6 p.m. on Thursday. Here is a list at a glance of the hours for some major retailers, as well as those sticking to traditional Friday opening times:

Belk: Thursday, 6 p.m.

BestBuy: Thursday, 6 p.m.

Dicks Sporting Goods: Thursday, 5 p.m.

Dollar General: Thursday, 7 a.m.

HH Gregg: Thursday, 4 p.m.

JCPenney: Thursday, 5 p.m.

Kohl’s: Thursday, 6 p.m.

K-Mart: Thursday, 6 a.m.

Macy’s: Thursday, 6 p.m.

Michael’s: Thursday, 4 p.m.

Old Navy:  Thursday, 4 p.m.

Rite Aid: Thursday, 8 a.m.

Sears: Thursday, 6 p.m.

Sports Authority: Thursday, 6 p.m.

Staples: Thursday, 6 p.m.

Toys “R” Us: Thursday, 5 p.m.

Walgreens: Thursday, 8 a.m.

Wal-Mart: Thursday, 6 p.m

The following retailers will not be open on Thanksgiving Day, but will be open for Black Friday:

BJ’s: Friday, 7 a.m.

Cabela’s: Friday, 5 a.m.

Costco: Friday, 7 a.m.

Dillard’s: Friday, 8 a.m.

Home Depot: Friday, 5 a.m.

Lowe’s: Friday, 5 a.m.

Sam’s Club: Friday, 7 a.m.

Von Maur: Friday, 9 a.m.
