Stock up for Thanksgiving:
Turkey: With Thanksgiving around the corner, this is the time of year to stock the freezer with turkeys at rock-bottom prices to use all year. Kroger has frozen turkeys on sale for 69 cents per pound (limit two per trip). Kroger has other Thanksgiving meal items at their low prices, including sweet potatoes at 39 cents per pound and celery at 99 cents per bunch. Five-pound bags of Gala apples are $3.99, or just 80 cents per pound.
Potatoes, pumpkin, chocolate chips, pie crusts: Kroger has Betty Crocker boxed potatoes on sale for $1 each. Use the 50-cents-off-two coupon from the Oct. 26 SmartSource to pay 75 cents each. Libby’s canned pumpkin (15 ounce) is on sale for $1.67 each. Use the 75-cents-off-two coupon from the Nov. 2 SmartSource to pay $1.30 per can. Nestlé Toll House Morsels (12 ounce) are on sale for $2.49. Use the $1-off-two coupon from the Sept. 28 SmartSource to pay $1.99 each. Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts (two count) are on sale for $2.50 each. Use the 50-cents-off-two coupon from the Nov. 2 SmartSource to pay $2.25 each.
Pantene, Tresemmé: Walgreens has Pantene hair care products (22.8 ounce) on sale for $4.33 each. Use the $5-off-three coupon from Walgreens.com to pay $2.66 each at the register. You will get 3,000 Balance Rewards points worth $3.75, so your net cost will be $1.41 per bottle. Also, Walgreens has large 32-ounce bottles of Tresemmé shampoo and conditioner on sale for $3.99 each. Use the $2 coupon from the Nov. 2 or Nov. 16 RedPlum to pay $1.99 each at the register. You will get 1,000 Balance Rewards points on two, worth $1.25, so your net cost will be $1.36 per bottle.
Colgate: Walgreens has selected varieties of Colgate toothpaste (6 ounce to 7.8 ounce) on sale for $3.99. Use the $1 coupon from the Nov. 9 SmartSource to pay $2.99 at the register. You will get a $2 Register Rewards coupon, so your net cost will be 99 cents each.
Extrabucks Promotion: CVS has a promotion that gives you $3 in Extrabucks when you spend a total of $10 on participating Unilever food items, including Skippy, Ragu and Lipton tea. For example, if you purchased five jars of Skippy peanut butter on sale for $2 each, you would pay $10 at the register and get the $3 reward. Your net cost would be $1.40 per jar. If you purchased six jars of Ragu pasta sauce on sale for $1.67 each, your net cost would be $1.17 per jar after the $3 reward.
Giftcard Promotion: CVS has a promotion that gives you a $10 CVS Gift Card when you spend $30 on participating items. As long as you reach the $30 in spending, you can assume that your net sale price per item is 33 percent less and then subtract the coupon savings to calculate your net cost. For example, Tide Pods or Gain Flings (14 count) are on sale for $3.94, or $2.64 after factoring in the gift card savings you will receive. Use the $2 coupon from the Nov. 16 coupon circular, and your net cost will be 64 cents each.
