Weekend deals: BBQ, JapanFest, LongHorn

Sweet Auburn Barbecue (BBQ): Join the Hawaiian end of season luau on Sat., Sept. 20, starting at 11 a.m. The party starts with a barbecue buffet, then becomes an unofficial Music Midtown after party. Menu items include wu-tang and coconut lemongrass wings, guava barbecue glazed smoked chicken and more. The prix fixe buffet will be available for $20 per guest (minus tax and gratuity.) At 11 p.m., DJ Mike Zarin plays the jams.

JapanFest: Head to Gwinnett Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth on September 20-21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sat., and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sun. Tickets are $8. Children age 6 or younger are free. The event includes musical & dance performances, kimono try-ons, martial arts demonstrations, a children’s area and a variety of Japanese goods for purchase.
